How did disability and enslavement function in Ancient Rome and what happens at their intersection? In this talk, Professor Clara Bosak-Schroeder (she/they) uses ancient texts and objects to explore the lives of disabled Romans, both enslavers and enslaved, and to examine how disability has been used by scholars as a metaphor for understanding Roman enslavement.
